The last Detroit jerseys, before the franchise icon goes home
Patrick Kane turns 38 midway through the 2026-27 season, and the last twelve months have been the closing chapter of a career that reads like a movie script. He finished the 2025-26 season with the Detroit Red Wings, his third one-year deal in Motown, and he was one of the few bright spots in a collapse that cost the team a 10th straight playoff berth. He posted 57 points in 67 games, 16 goals and 41 assists, and from March 1 he and Alex DeBrincat led the Red Wings in scoring outright. In January he passed Mike Modano to become the highest-scoring American-born player in NHL history. He goes into his 20th season ranked sixth among active players with 508 goals and fourth with 1,400 points across 1,369 career regular-season games.
Then the story turned. On July 23, 2026, Kane signed a two-year, $16 million deal to return to the Chicago Blackhawks, the franchise where he won three Stanley Cups (2010, 2013, 2015), a Hart Trophy and an Art Ross. The contract carries an $8 million cap hit and a full no-movement clause, which means he controls his own roster spot through 2028. Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson said the front office consulted Connor Bedard before the signing, and Bedard, who is recovering from shoulder surgery and will miss the opening month of the season, has called Kane one of the best passers in the history of hockey. The plan is for Kane to carry the offense until Bedard returns in November, then potentially skate on his wing.
Below are the four #88 jerseys we stock today, every one in stock now. They are all Detroit Red Wings Premium, the stitched pro-style tier, all at $76.99. These are the last jerseys from the Detroit chapter, and once they are gone the Chicago return begins. If you want a Kane shirt from his Red Wings years, this is the shelf.

Why shop a Kane hub now, while the Detroit chapter closes
Three reasons. First, these are the last Detroit-era Kane jerseys in stock, and once the Blackhawks return begins the Red Wings #88 jerseys become a closing chapter piece. Second, Kane is the highest-scoring American-born player in NHL history with 1,400 points, a three-time Cup champion, and the only reason these jerseys are not Blackhawks jerseys is that the Detroit stock is what remains. Third, the shelf is the simplest of any NHL hub we have built: four Premium jerseys, one price, $76.99, from the Home red to the Stadium Series special. The NHL 2026-27 Season Hub has the full schedule, and the 20 NHL Stars page is a good primer on the rest of the league. For the Chicago side of Kane's career, the Connor Bedard Jersey Hub is where the reunion story lives.

Premium tier: four Red Wings colorways, one honest shelf
Every Kane jersey here is the same Premium tier at the same price. The differences are the colorway and the occasion, and here is who each one is for.
The short version: the Premium tier is the stitched pro-style jersey, the cut with the embroidered crest and twill name and number, and it is the tier the Red Wings use for every Kane jersey in the catalog. All four pieces on this shelf are identical in build and price, $76.99, so the choice is pure design. The Home red is the classic. The Away white is the road look. The Stadium Series is the outdoor-game uniform from the 2025 NHL Stadium Series, and the Centennial red is the franchise centennial commemorative.
| Design | The look | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Home red | The classic red Red Wings home uniform | The essential pick |
| Away white | The white road uniform, cleanest on the shelf | The road-look pick |
| Stadium Series | The 2025 outdoor-game uniform from the NHL Stadium Series | The collector pick |
| Centennial red | The franchise centennial commemorative in red | The centennial keepsake |
A straight answer on which to get: the Home red at $76.99 is the one to buy if you want one Kane jersey. It is the classic Red Wings look and the stitched tier. If you want the collector angle, the Stadium Series at $76.99 is the outdoor-game uniform, the rarest piece on the shelf. If you want the centennial story, the Centennial red is the commemorative. The League Jersey Comparison page goes through how NHL tiers compare to the other leagues, and the jersey authenticity guide covers what to check before you buy anywhere.
Sizing for every cut lives on the Size Guide.
