The Story of the Season
A Banner Night and a Super Bowl Rematch
The 2026 NFL season opens Wednesday, September 9 in Seattle, where the Seahawks raise the Super Bowl LX banner and then kick off against the New England Patriots — the same team they beat 29-13 in February for the franchise's second Lombardi Trophy. Sam Darnold opens the season under center for the defending champs, and a banner-night rematch is the single biggest jersey-demand trigger on the NFL calendar.
Meanwhile, this year's first-year players have outpaced every expectation at retail: sales trackers flagged the 2026 rookie class as the top-selling jersey group of the summer, led by No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, with preseason standouts like Caleb Downs and Denzel Boston driving surging demand across their fanbases. The week before Kickoff is historically the last easy window before league-wide demand narrows size runs.

Week 1: The Games That Move the Market
The season opens midweek with the banner ceremony in Seattle, makes history in Australia the next morning, then rolls into a full Sunday slate headlined by Commanders at Eagles and a Sunday-night NFC East showdown as the Cowboys visit the Giants.
Seahawks vs Patriots
A Super Bowl LX rematch as the season opener. The champs raise the banner, then face the team they beat for it — championship-edition demand peaks in the 72 hours around this game.
NFL in Melbourne
The first regular-season NFL game ever played in Australia. International games carry a different collector angle — first-generation Melbourne editions.
Commanders @ Eagles
The Sunday slate's marquee matchup. Rivalry-week demand concentrates hard in the days before kickoff, and both shops rank among the hub's fastest movers.
Cowboys @ Giants
Prime-time NFC East showdown to close Week 1. Cowboys navy and Giants blue are year-round sellers that spike on Sunday-night stages.
Buying Decision
Game, Limited, or Replica: Which Jersey Should You Buy?
The three main NFL jersey tiers exist for different kinds of fans, and knowing the difference is the single easiest way to buy right the first time. Game-tier jerseys are lightweight and breathable — built for tailgates and couch Sundays. Limited-tier adds stitched twill numbers, the closest thing to what players wear on the field. Replica-tier delivers the team look at a friendlier price — the smart pick for youth sizes. Our full Jersey Sizing & Technology Guide covers fabric, fit, and construction in detail.
| Tier | Best For | The Difference |
|---|---|---|
| Game | Tailgates, bars, couch Sundays | Lightweight and breathable — the most comfortable all-day wear |
| Limited | The everyday superfan | Closest to what players wear on the field, with stitched twill numbers |
| Replica | Budget-conscious fans and growing kids | Team look at a friendlier price — the smart pick for youth sizes |

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I order my NFL jersey for the 2026 season?
Order before September 9 if possible — demand peaks around Kickoff, and popular player, size, and number combinations are always the first to sell out. Custom name-and-number jerseys also take longer to fulfill during peak weeks.
Which NFL jersey tier is the best quality?
Limited-tier jerseys are the closest match to on-field uniforms with stitched details, while Game-tier jerseys are lighter and more comfortable for all-day wear. The right choice depends on how you plan to wear it — our technology guide breaks it down tier by tier.
Do you carry throwback and retired-player NFL jerseys?
Yes — every team shop includes franchise-legend throwbacks, and you can find classic editions across all sports in the Retro Kits vault.
Can I customize an NFL jersey with my own name and number?
Absolutely. Custom NFL jerseys with any name and number are available through the custom jersey shop in men's, women's, and youth sizes.
