Europa League 2026/27: The Road to Frankfurt

The countdown — updated October 18, 2026

The league phase is under way — Matchdays 1–2 are complete, and Matchday 3 is 4 days out (22 October). The final is 220 days out (26 May 2027, Frankfurt).

Our Take: This Is Where the Value Is

Here is an unpopular opinion worth defending: the Europa League is the better competition to watch this season, and the better one to buy a shirt from.

Two reasons. First, the competitive gap is smaller. The Champions League league phase is built around a handful of clubs that can win it; the Europa League is built around thirty-odd clubs that genuinely can beat each other on a Thursday. Second, the shirts are the same shirts. Milan, Juventus, Lyon, Marseille, Celtic and Leverkusen all wear the same matchday kit in Europe that they wear at the weekend — a Europa League run does not make the shirt any less current.

What the tier does change is the fixture list: eight different opponents instead of a group of three, four of them away. It is a format that rewards squad depth, which is exactly why the clubs with something to prove — and something to sell — tend to go deep.

The Clubs to Watch — and the Shirts

The two names that carry this competition in 2026/27 are AC Milan and Juventus, both seeded in Pot 1, with Lyon and Marseille alongside them and Celtic the Scottish interest from Pot 2. Every shirt below is in stock and can be printed with a name and number.

AC Milan’s current home shirt is the 2025/26 Reijnders edition — the 2026/27 home shirt has not landed in stock yet, so we list the newest one we actually hold.

Which Shirt Should You Buy for This Competition?

A Europa League campaign rewards a different choice than a Champions League one. Three honest recommendations:

  • If you want one shirt that lasts: take the current home shirt of a club you watch anyway. European nights do not change the kit — the shirt is the shirt.
  • If you are buying for a specific matchday: order before the window opens. Printed shirts are made to order and the 7–15 day delivery runs from dispatch, not from order.
  • If you are choosing between fan and player versions: the fan version is cut roomier and is the one people actually wear; the player version follows the on-pitch cut and runs slimmer. The full comparison is here.
