Premier League Matchweek 6: All 10 Fixtures and the Return After the Break

The Premier League returns on Saturday after a two-week break with a full round of ten fixtures — and a table that already looks odd. Manchester City have won all five of their games, Liverpool have drawn three of five, and Tottenham are bottom without a win.

Premier League matchweek 6
Ten fixtures between Saturday 10 October and Monday 12 October — the first full Premier League round in three weeks.

Matchweek 6: quick answers

  • When? Saturday 10 October to Monday 12 October — ten fixtures.
  • Who leads? Manchester City, 15 points from five games.
  • The big one? Liverpool against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, 16:30 UK time.
  • Why a full round now? The Premier League stopped for the Nations League window and has not played since 19-20 September.

Key takeaways

  • Ten fixtures run from Saturday 10 October to Monday 12 October — the first full Premier League round since 19-20 September.
  • Manchester City lead on 15 points from five games. Arsenal are second on 12.
  • Liverpool are sixth on nine points and unbeaten, but three of their five games have been draws.
  • Tottenham are bottom on two points without a win; Manchester United are 12th on five, and host Tottenham on Saturday evening.

Why there is a full round this weekend

The Premier League has not played since 19-20 September. The Nations League window took two weekends out of the domestic calendar, which is why the table has been frozen on five games played for everyone since the middle of last month — and why this round arrives with a little more weight than a normal Matchweek 6.

It also means the table you are looking at is a five-game table. Nobody has played six. Every position below is therefore provisional in the most literal sense.

All ten fixtures, in kick-off order

Times are UK. The round opens at Arsenal on Saturday lunchtime and closes at Coventry on Monday night.

Liverpool v Manchester City: the one that matters most

City have won all five, scored thirteen and conceded five. Liverpool have not lost either — but they have drawn three of five, which is why an unbeaten side is sixth rather than second. Anfield on a Sunday is the first real test of whether that City run is a run or a season.

There is a second layer to it. Liverpool’s three draws are the difference between nine points and fifteen; City’s five wins are the difference between first and the pack. One match cannot settle that, but it can stop being a coincidence.

Manchester United v Tottenham: twelfth against twentieth

United have one win from five and sit twelfth. Tottenham are bottom on two points, with two goals scored in five games — the lowest total in the division. Old Trafford on a Saturday evening is not a neutral setting for that fixture, and both clubs need the same thing from it.

Shirt demand index: Matchweek 6

Built from our own order flow and range depth across the Premier League lines.

Tier 1
Tier 1 · the game of the round

Liverpool and Manchester City. Anfield on a Sunday afternoon against a side that has won all five is the fixture that moves both ranges, and it is the only meeting of last season’s top two in this round.

Tier 2
Tier 2 · the two ends of the table

Manchester United and Tottenham. Twelfth against twentieth at Old Trafford — a club with one win hosting a club with none, which is exactly the kind of fixture that sells shirts on narrative rather than form.

Tier 3
Tier 3 · the rest of the round

Arsenal, Leeds, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Newcastle and the promoted sides. Eight fixtures spread across Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and the first full round since the September break.

Our verdict

The break is the story before the story. Three weeks without a league round have left City five from five, Liverpool unbeaten and sixth, and Tottenham bottom — three things that read like a table from three different seasons, all from five games. Sunday at Anfield is where we find out which of them survives contact.

When is Premier League Matchweek 6?
The round runs from Saturday 10 October to Monday 12 October 2026, with ten fixtures.
Why was there no Premier League football for two weeks?
The league stopped for the Nations League window. No Premier League matches were played between 20 September and 10 October.
Who is top of the Premier League?
Manchester City, on 15 points from five games, with five wins. Arsenal are second on 12.
Why are Liverpool only sixth?
They are unbeaten but have drawn three of their five games, so they have nine points rather than fifteen.
Who is bottom of the Premier League?
Tottenham Hotspur, on two points from five games, without a win and with two goals scored.
How many games has each club played?
Five. Every club in the division has played five matches, which is why this round is the first six-game table.
